Can a Phantom Door Screen be installed on an outward-swinging door?

Yes, it can. For outward-swinging doors, we mount the retractable screen on the interior side. About 40% of our installations are on outward-swinging doors.

Will the sill adapter cause tripping?

We understand your concern. However, every doorway has different elevation levels, like tile inside or pavers outside. People naturally adjust when walking through a door, and the sill adapter rarely causes any issues.

What color should I choose for my retractable screen?

Most front entrances have three different colors: the door, the trim, and the wall. We recommend choosing a color that closely matches the door first, then the trim, and lastly the wall.

Will my door handle interfere with the screen?

No. We always mount the screen system on the hinge side and draw it toward the handle side. Since the door will be open when using the screen, the handle will not be in the way.

How does the retractable screen work with double doors?

For double doors, we install a screen on each side. The two screens meet in the center with a weather-sealed connection to keep insects out.

How do I fix my screen if it comes out of the track?

For our Legacy system, fully retract the screen, then slowly draw it back out until it latches—this often resets the mesh. For our MeshLock systems, please contact us to schedule a service visit, as re-guiding the screen requires a technician.
